Hints and tips
To ensure that you are covered by Standard Bank automatic travel insurance for your trip, whether abroad or local, purchase your public conveyance travel ticket with your Standard Bank credit card (MasterCard or Visa card).
The automatic cover offered is limited and we recommend that you purchase one of our additional cover options and discounted rates to ensure complete peace of mind.
If you have purchased your public conveyance travel ticket with frequent flyer miles that you have accumulated from spend on your Standard Bank credit card, you are not covered under automatic travel insurance. However, you do still have the option to purchase one of the additional cover options to ensure that you are covered for your trip.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions for which you are taking medication or have received medical advice before you embark on your trip, we recommend that you take up one of the Pre-existing Medical Conditions cover options available to ensure you are adequately covered.
If you require an insurance certificate for visa purposed, contact the travel insurance call centre and they will provide this to you.
